📋 Description

• Generate and cultivate a pipeline of mortgage loan opportunities through outreach, networking, and marketing • Develop and maintain relationships with real estate professionals and prospective borrowers • Evaluate borrower financial information for creditworthiness and mortgage eligibility • Educate clients on mortgage products, rates, and lending guidelines • Manage the loan process from application through closing • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for timely, accurate closings • Communicate with borrowers and request documentation throughout the loan lifecycle • Maintain compliant documentation • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and product offerings • Cross-sell other credit union services • Represent Deseret First Credit Union professionally and ethically

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required • 1–3 years minimum experience; ideally 2–5 years in mortgage loan officer or similar role • Proven experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer or similar role • Demonstrated success in generating independent business preferred • Deep knowledge of mortgage products, lending regulations, and compliance standards • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently • Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit • Ability to work remotely without direct supervision • Active NMLS number required • Basic word processing and computer skills required • Ability to read and interpret real estate purchase contracts, loan program guidelines, tax returns, income documentation, credit reports, and preliminary title reports • Knowledge of Encompass Software helpful
