📋 Description

• Provide accurate, real-time consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation during phone sessions between English- and Spanish-speaking parties • Translate written documents, forms, and correspondence between English and Spanish • Maintain strict confidentiality of client, case, and personal information • Interpret neutrally, professionally, and in a trauma-informed manner during sensitive conversations involving families and children • Accurately convey tone, intent, and cultural context without adding, omitting, or altering content • Maintain reliable availability for scheduled and on-demand interpretation sessions • Document session date, time, and duration for billing and quality tracking • Communicate with scheduling staff regarding availability, conflicts, and technical issues • Follow professional interpreter ethics standards, including accuracy, impartiality, and confidentiality

🎯 Requirements

• Native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English, verbal and written • Minimum of one year of professional interpretation and/or translation experience • Current interpreter certification required: CMI, Certified Court Interpreter, NBCMI, CCHI, or equivalent state/federal certification • Reliable high-speed internet connection • Computer or smartphone and headset suitable for remote interpretation • Ability to pass a background screening as required by client contracts • Ability to maintain composure during emotionally sensitive conversations • Ability to work independently and manage a flexible, part-time schedule • Preferred: experience in social services, child welfare, immigration, healthcare, or legal settings • Preferred: experience with vulnerable populations, including families and minors • Preferred: availability for scheduled sessions and short-notice on-demand requests
