📋 Description

• Own weekly AR and AP aging reviews, dunning, vendor payment cadences, cash controls, and weekly cash reporting. • Review banking fees and idle cash placement to improve yield while preserving liquidity. • Own federal, state, sales tax, and international filing accuracy and timeliness. • Manage equity administration, including 409A cadence, grant bookings, cap table reconciliation, and stock compensation expense. • Ensure accurate, timely payroll across payroll/PEO providers and support annual compensation reviews. • Own the monthly close, including revenue recognition, expense close, reconciliations, and consolidated financial statements. • Maintain rolling multi-year forecasts and prepare executive-ready financial reporting. • Lead budget-vs-actual reviews with department leaders and identify tax optimization opportunities. • Support Revenue Operations with commission calculations, customer credits, and billing dispute resolution. • Oversee and review the work of a Contracted Jr. Accountant. • Modernize accounting infrastructure, chart of accounts, spend tracking, approval workflows, and automation. • Refresh the sales tax strategy and multi-state approach. • Build expense forecasting capabilities for improved visibility into spend. • Report to the Fractional Controller.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or active CPA candidacy strongly preferred. • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including full-cycle month-end close ownership. • Experience with multi-state and/or international tax compliance. • Familiarity with equity administration platforms (e.g., Carta) and stock compensation accounting (ASC 718). • Experience reviewing or managing the work of a junior team member, offshore accountant, or outsourced provider. • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills, with experience building forecasts and executive-level reporting. • Proficiency with QuickBooks or a similar general ledger system; experience with modern fintech tools (e.g., Brex) and payroll/PEO platforms is a plus. • Track record of improving or modernizing accounting processes and systems, not just operating within them. • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving. • Must be based in the United States. • Employment eligibility confirmed through E-Verify for newly hired U.S. employees.
