📋 Description

• Drive product and business impact through statistical modeling, experiment design, Bayesian marketing analysis, and classifier implementation • Work across DuckDuckGo Search, Instant Answers, AI, and revenue optimization • Define core growth metrics and build infrastructure to monitor trends and anomalies • Measure the impact of major Duck.ai marketing campaigns and translate full-funnel data into actionable decisions • Build monitoring pipelines to detect unexpected shifts in search traffic patterns • Expand evaluation datasets for page context understanding across complex scenarios • Improve trigger systems determining when AI-assisted answers surface in DuckDuckGo Search • Lead high-complexity data science projects from scoping through production • Collaborate with product teams and contribute to overall team throughput

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Data Science • Track record of leading high-complexity projects from scoping to production with minimal direction • Ability to perform at least two of: deploy and iterate on ML in production environments; develop and deploy NLP solutions; apply knowledge of LLMs including fine-tuning, LLM-as-judge, and AI-assisted development; conduct marketing campaign analysis using Bayesian methods • Production-grade coding skills in Python or a comparable high-level language • Advanced SQL and query optimization skills • Familiarity with columnar databases such as BigQuery, ClickHouse, Redshift, or Druid • Ability to design, implement, and analyze experiments across product surfaces • Comfort deriving insights from sparse or privacy-constrained data • Effective collaboration with product teams • Ability to attend meetings on camera via video conferencing • Willingness to travel at least two times a year for an all-hands meetup and team retreat • Average full-time commitment of 40 hours per week • Successful completion of a background check • Non-US applicants must be legally authorized to work in their country of residence • US applicants must address whether they require visa sponsorship; DuckDuckGo does not sponsor or assist with individual immigration needs
