📋 Description

• Lead complex privacy engineering projects across company-wide objectives • Write pragmatic, performant, testable code using Go, Node.js, Python, and sometimes Perl • Design systems that improve search indexes and AI features without compromising user privacy • Build features on the Tracker Radar crawler to detect emerging privacy threats • Implement and maintain privacy features including Web Tracking and Email Protections • Own major components of DuckDuckGo’s privacy technology and improve them over time • Participate in privacy reviews and audit processes • Ensure product developments align with DuckDuckGo’s privacy principles • Formally mentor other engineers and support Privacy Team career growth

🎯 Requirements

• Experience working on privacy solutions in an engineering capacity, such as tracker blockers or differential privacy • Deep technical understanding of online privacy threats and existing privacy protection solutions • Proficiency in Go, Node.js, Python, or Perl • Ability to lead and collaborate on high-impact, complex projects from proposal through post-mortem • Ability to handle vague problems, propose innovative solutions, and execute effectively • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences • Must attend meetings on camera via video conferencing • Average full-time commitment of 40 hours per week • Must pass a background check as a condition of joining • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of residence • US applicants must not require visa sponsorship, as DuckDuckGo does not sponsor or assist with individual immigration needs
