• Conduct archaeological surveys, excavations, and monitoring • Support various archaeological projects throughout California on an on-call/as-needed basis • Travel to project locations for several consecutive days as needed • Perform outdoor fieldwork across uneven terrain and in extreme weather conditions • Attend meetings in person and virtually • Communicate with peers and clients by phone • Use computers, phones, printers, GPS equipment, cameras, tablets, and ESRI Collector during project work
• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology • Current valid driver’s license • Ability to safely operate a 4WD vehicle • Ability to be insured to drive a vehicle and/or current auto insurance • Active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test • Ability to pass a background check • Experience with archaeological field methods, including pedestrian survey, testing/evaluation, and monitoring • Ability to operate GPS equipment, cameras, and tablets • Physical ability to carry equipment and supplies up to 40 lbs. and walk or hike for long hours • Understanding and willingness to safely accommodate difficult weather and environmental conditions • Willingness to travel to project locations for several consecutive days • Completed an accredited field school certification • Previous archaeological survey experience in California or adjacent areas • Experience recording a variety of site and isolate types in the region • Knowledge of and experience using ESRI Collector • Ability to bend, squat, climb ladders, and lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted or 50 lbs. in a team lift • Required U.S. work authorization
