• Follow safe work practices and company and client worksite safety policies and procedures • Promote company Core Values and foster a family-centric culture • Prepare complete cost estimates for projects • Monitor programs of work to ensure estimates are completed before deadlines • Perform field take-offs and evaluations for estimate preparation • Compare project documents for accuracy and consistency • Participate in estimate reviews with internal and external stakeholders • Assist construction personnel throughout the project life cycle in tracking and understanding the basis of cost estimates • Assist with preparing and submitting change orders • Follow up at project completion to close loops in the estimating process • Analyze contract documents and specifications for medium to large hard bid/lump sum projects • Own medium to large estimates or components of larger estimates and remain accountable for the assigned scope • Complete final cost estimates, including labor, equipment, materials, pricing documentation, overhead, and profit margins, and produce final bid submissions • Identify risk factors and monitor published addenda that may alter project scope • Complete quantity take-offs for labor, equipment, and materials • Capture and understand trade scopes and communicate gaps or missing information • Coordinate with sales development and project management teams on site logistics, schedules, and execution plans • Review material and construction equipment pricing and address bid validity and price escalation • Assist or lead preparation of final bid documents for client submission by contract deadlines • Support estimating efforts across multiple office locations • Maintain data in E2 Optics' systems • Read and understand blueprints • Perform other duties as assigned
• High school diploma or GED required • RCDD is preferred • Minimum of five (5) years' experience estimating large scale new commercial construction projects including mission critical data centers and structure cable projects preferred • Structured Cabling/Low Voltage industry experience required • Bluebeam experience REQUIRED • Familiarity with AutoCAD is preferred • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project) • Must have the proven ability to design, engineer, estimate and develop a written and graphic representation of the company's proposed solutions utilizing the software resources provided by the company • Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines • Impeccable problem-solving skills • Demonstrated detail orientation • Demonstrated and effective communication and interpersonal skills • Strong ability to work in teams and foster confidence in all • Solid proven estimating skills and understanding of conceptual estimating skillset • Ability to independently develop accurate, detailed, complete estimates • Willingness and ability to travel as required • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds • Must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet • Must be able to operate scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required • May be required to work in tight and confined spaces
