📋 Description

• Complete quality assurance reviews of patient medical records for accurate and complete documentation of diagnoses and procedures • Audit records previously reviewed by Customer CDS consultants and identify missed specificity or inconsistencies • Review CDI queries from a compliance perspective using the ACDIS/AHIMA Practice Brief (2022) • Review adherence to customer-specific CDI processes and procedures • Review unexamined accounts to identify improvement opportunities • Use customer systems and e4health Audit software to identify risks, documentation opportunities, and trends • Assist with report writing as appropriate • Collaborate with customers, coworkers, and management to meet assignment needs • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA • Travel to field sites when required, up to 15% of the time

🎯 Requirements

• Current ACDIS CCDS or AHIMA CDIP certification required • 3+ years of clinical documentation experience with an acute care facility required • 2+ years of CDI auditing experience • Current RN license or graduate of medical school with 5+ years of acute care experience preferred; some Customers may require RN • Thorough understanding of MS and APR DRG methodologies and compliant query practices outlined by ACDIS/AHIMA • Strong analytical skills to clinically evaluate medical records • Ability to independently use multiple computer applications for medical record review • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook • Ability to communicate effectively with e4health management and customers • Proficiency with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS • Coding credentials such as CCS preferred • BSN, in addition to RN license, preferred • Experience with multiple health facilities, electronic medical records, and encoders strongly preferred • Familiarity with various risk models strongly preferred • Understanding of HAC/PSI models, including exclusionary opportunity, preferred • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Visa sponsorship is not available
