📋 Description

• Investigate fire events to determine origin, cause, and responsibility • Accept customer assignments for investigation of losses or claims and pursue investigations according to assignment needs • Determine origin and cause of losses/claims and identify potential third-party responsibility for subrogation • Maintain required reporting commitments to clients according to EFI procedures • Promote and market EFI services in the insurance industry and assigned territory • Liaise between insurance industry and law enforcement/fire service personnel • Investigate losses/claims involving illegal, fraudulent, or subrogation aspects • Identify and interview witnesses and involved persons • Inspect public records, including land deeds, mortgages, liens, suits, judgments, and marriage/divorce records • Ensure investigations comply with privacy laws and public-record access requirements • Travel as required • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• NAFI Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator (CFEI) certification required at minimum • IAAI Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI) certification strongly preferred • Required to obtain IAAI-CFI certification within 6 months of qualifying to take the certification test • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred • Three (3) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required • Good oral and written communication • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products • Strong organizational and time management skills • Strong interpersonal skills • Good analytical and interpretive skills • Strong investigative skills • Attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to work independently or in a team environment • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods • Ability to kneel, squat, bend, climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and reach/work overhead • Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold weather conditions • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds • Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds • Ability to drive up to 4 hours per day
