📋 Description

• Responsible for inspecting various types of building structures to assess structural integrity • Perform cause and origin analysis of failures • Review for compliance with building codes and industry standards • Prepare comprehensive technical reports • Conduct investigations to determine the root cause of events and failures • Produce detailed reports, drawings, and/or outline the cause and origin of losses and damages • Provide expert testimony in a court of law and/or in depositions • Document and maintain billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and engineering projects • Collaborate with EFI’s national team of forensic experts to leverage experiences and assist on projects

🎯 Requirements

• Eight (8) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education • Prefer experience specifically in failure analysis and forensic engineering • Familiarity with wood, steel, masonry, and concrete design and construction • Experience building envelope components and details • Knowledge and familiarity of applicable building and design codes and standards • Requires Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university • Requires a Professional Engineering (PE) license in at least one New England state • Prefer multi-state licensing and/or active NCEES Record • Expert witness testimony experience is a plus
