📋 Description

• Provide post-execution legal support for license, collaboration, M&A, and other agreements in Lilly's infectious disease and vaccines portfolio • Advise Alliance Management and other functions managing ongoing contractual relationships • Prepare, review, and negotiate complex R&D and commercial agreements • Advise on government and BARDA-related contracting, CRADAs, and public-private collaboration structures • Support Lilly Research Labs projects and workstreams across therapeutic areas and geographies • Manage governance, milestones, royalties, reporting obligations, dispute resolution, termination, and other agreement lifecycle issues • Support integration of newly acquired infectious disease and vaccine assets and platforms • Identify and resolve sophisticated legal issues and drive successful business outcomes • Ensure agreements comply with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines • Provide clear strategic advice to legal leadership and business clients • Translate complex technical, performance, and legal issues into understandable terms • Partner with Regulatory Legal and other legal subject-matter experts • Take ownership of matters and projects in a new and growing business area • Represent Lilly externally to partners, customers, suppliers, and government counterparties • Negotiate legal issues and help direct outside counsel

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) • Licensed to practice law in at least one of the 50 States • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience related to drafting, reviewing, and negotiating sophisticated transactions • Experience practicing as a member of a law firm in a relevant area of law, in-house law department, or a combination of the two • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • Understanding of drug development and pharmaceutical industry experience • Experience with infectious disease and/or vaccine programs strongly preferred • Familiarity with vaccine-specific legal and contracting frameworks, including BARDA, U.S. government contracting mechanisms, CRADAs, VICP, PREP Act, and CICP, a plus • Ability to proactively identify creative and innovative transactional solutions and process improvements • Sound judgment, commitment to ethical conduct, and attention to detail • Demonstrated business acumen • Ability to prioritize and lead workflows for multiple assignments in parallel • Ability to quickly understand and integrate with Lilly Legal and the pharmaceutical industry • Ability to absorb complex technical and scientific information • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline advantageous
