📋 Description

• Provide customers with technical advice on controls • Analyze system controls and modify programming as necessary • Analyze PLC and written code to ensure rotating equipment operates within specified parameters • Perform electrical and instrumentation checks using diagnostic equipment • Troubleshoot rotating equipment trains to locate equipment not functioning based on control commands • Write professional daily and final reports of work performed • Direct field installation and commissioning of EEE and non-OEM supplied control systems • Coordinate and provide technical expertise on engineered control systems • Verify accurate instrument calibrations • Perform instrument loop and point-to-point wiring checks • Verify logic functions work as intended • Coordinate logic and programming changes with Controls Engineering • Provide site job reports and status updates to supervision • Provide technical expertise to internal departments on complex problems • Execute site acceptance testing at user locations • Document and report logic and software changes to customers • Return commissioned software code for archiving • Maintain programming skills on various OEM PLCs • Learn programming of different PLC vendors through self-teaching, collaboration, and vendor training • Participate in Technical Service management team activities as assigned • Become proficient as an FSR on other product lines • Occasionally provide direction on field jobs, including scheduling activities, payroll time submission, and monitoring team progress • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited academic institution with 10 years of field controls experience, or proven experience on HMI interfaces and development, and DCS or PLC based control systems and PLC programming • Minimum of six years of applicable engineering experience is preferred • Prior field experience installing and commissioning controls systems at user sites is a significant plus • Technical knowledge of a function, product, or process • Intensive knowledge of policies and procedures • Analytical skills • Programming experience and knowledge of non-OEM equipment • Knowledge of API and ANSI requirements • Ability to analyze PLC and written code • Ability to perform electrical and instrumentation checks using diagnostic equipment • Ability to troubleshoot rotating equipment trains • 70–80% travel throughout North America
