đź“‹ Description

• Report to the Director of Fire Management • Lead departmental planning efforts, shape organizational policy, and drive cross-functional strategy • Serve as a working lead on several active projects • Provide subject matter expertise, relationship management, and hands-on coordination • Implement and/or develop a Program area • Identify and pursue strategic funding opportunities • Oversee complex budget and contract management, invoicing, and programmatic reporting • Align Program goals with department strategy in collaboration with the Department Director • Mentor Fire Management employees, emphasizing team cohesion, leadership development, and cross-cutting collaboration • Represent the Program in external forums, meetings, and strategic conversations • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with relevant partners • Provide subject matter expertise and project management on complex projects • Develop new program areas and expand existing areas to fulfill TEA's mission • Identify emerging needs, design innovation and scalable strategies, and ensure measurable and sustainable impact • Secure funding through project proposals and large-scale or multi-year grant applications • Support Fire Duty Officer processes for department staff as assigned • Manage MOA/MOU development with partner organizations • Travel based on departmental needs • Participate in prescribed fire implementation, suppression, or training up to current qualification level as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or demonstrates written and verbal communication skills as deemed sufficient by hiring team • At least 4 years managing multiple ongoing projects or high complexity projects • Currently or previously qualified as Single Resource of either ENGB, CRWB, or RXB2 • Independent success in securing and administering large-scale or multi-year funding, such as grants • 2 or more years of experience working collaboratively with other organizations on projects • Success in generating new business leads through networking, relationship-building, and leveraging existing client connections • Grant writing for complex projects • Advanced written and verbal communication skills • Ability to create and manage complex budgets • Contract review and management • Competence using Microsoft Suite products, including Excel and Word • Subject matter expertise for the respective position • Passion for the organization's mission and commitment to social impact • Desired: Currently or previously qualified as TFLD or DIVS • Desired: Master's or PhD in a wildland fire-related field, or 15+ years combination of education and experience • Desired: Five or more years in department management and executive leadership within a nonprofit, state, or federal wildland fire agency • Desired: Track record of successfully designing, implementing, and evaluating programs • Desired: Event organization and fundraising • Desired: Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements for federal contracts • Must submit a resume, cover letter, NWCG qualification records, and three professional references
