📋 Description

• Manage litigation of severely complex auto and casualty claims • Investigate and evaluate complex claims, coverage, liability and damages • Set and update timely, adequate reserves • Analyze lawsuits, prepare coverage positions, lawsuit analyses and litigation plans • Collaborate with defense counsel and other experts on evaluations, negotiations and litigation strategy • Negotiate, settle and resolve complex claims with insureds, claimants and attorneys • Complete litigation matters in CLMS and Claims Center • Assign and manage defense counsel, experts and third-party vendors • Attend trials and mediations and assist with arbitrations and depositions • Investigate and pursue recovery opportunities, including subrogation and liens • Prepare claims, roundtable reports, large loss reports, risk reports and underwriting materials • Provide technical guidance and serve as a subject matter expert for claims professionals • Handle complex claims nationwide and participate in claims projects • Collaborate with Estimatics, Special Investigation, Subrogation, Medical Review, Coverage Counsel, Underwriting and Risk Improvement teams

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience • Ten years of casualty claims adjusting experience or related experience • Relevant insurance designations preferred • Superior knowledge of best claims practices used to resolve the most serious and complex liability claims • Advanced knowledge of insurance contracts, medical terminology and substantive and procedural laws • Excellent knowledge of negotiation and alternative resolution techniques • Excellent knowledge of computers and claims systems • Ability to obtain all applicable state licenses • Ability to adhere to high standards of professional conduct and code of ethics • Exceptional organizational and empathetic interpersonal skills • Thorough written and verbal communication skills • Advanced customer service skills • Ability to maintain confidentiality • Thorough investigative and problem-solving abilities • Frequent travel required nationwide • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required if driving
