• Support Energy Exemplar’s growth in North America as part of the Americas – Data and Insights team • Identify customer use cases • Shape go-to-market strategies • Provide thought leadership as a subject matter expert • Understand customer challenges and propose solutions • Develop products using Energy Exemplar tools and datasets • Build and oversee production of energy market models using PLEXOS • Apply expertise in energy market fundamentals and fundamental nodal modeling
• Hands-on modeling experience in several ISOs (e.g., ERCOT) • Experience with nodal power flow modeling and ability to discuss LMPs, congestion, contingencies, and LODF • Self-starter with ability to work independently • 7+ years of direct Energy Modeling and Power Market Analysis experience • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to research and learn new techniques • Experience creating and analyzing energy datasets for power models • Production cost market modeling knowledge and experience • Experience with nodal market modeling is required • Knowledge of one or more energy economic modeling tools: PLEXOS, Aurora, PROMOD, PSO, MarketAnalytics, and/or PROSYM • Strong organizational skills • Expert skills using Excel, Power BI, and similar tools • Foundational knowledge of energy markets and associated economics • Ability to communicate complex subject matter in an easy-to-understand manner • Strong commercial awareness • Top-down problem-solving approach and ability to see the big picture • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively • Self-driven, results-oriented, positive outlook, and focus on quality • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities • Sense of urgency for goal achievement • Four-year degree in Economics, Electrical Engineering (Power Systems), or Mathematics preferred • Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred • Prior experience building fundamental energy market models • Knowledge of PLEXOS or other mathematically based optimization tools
