📋 Description

• Junior Technician role for railroad track inspection operations. • Use measurement tools, electronics troubleshooting, and computer operation. • Interpret railroad documents to derive train speed information. • Review and analyze track measurement data for reporting. • Operate hi-rail commercial motor vehicles. • Conduct vehicle maintenance for rail survey cars and hi-rail vehicles. • Perform regular housekeeping duties for safety and sanitation aboard survey vehicles. • Routine travel to and work on-board railroad track inspection vehicles.

🎯 Requirements

• This position requires the successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation. Qualified applicants must have resided in the United States for at least three (3) of the past five (5) years for this requirement. • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical field involving troubleshooting and problem resolution, or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 1 year of experience. • Experience with workplace safety programs. • Proficiency with computer applications such as MS Word; Excel; PowerPoint; and Outlook. • Experience reading electrical or electronic schematics and wiring diagrams. • Experience conducting equipment/machinery inspections (periodic maintenance inspections, preventive maintenance) and equipment upkeep. • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Operating System; transferring files on a network, copying, and pasting. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Proficiency with tape measure and similar measuring tools. • Functional knowledge of mathematics and fraction measurements. • Valid Driver's License and able to complete a Department of Transportation medical examination to acquire a Commercial Driver Medical Certification. • Must be able to travel independently for business purposes, including but not limited to booking independent vehicle rental and hotel accommodations.
