📋 Description

• Investigates the origin and cause of failures, damages, or defects in civil/structural fields within residential, commercial, and industrial sites • Analyzes building-system failures, determines causes, evaluates construction quality, and reviews design or maintenance procedures • Participates in catastrophe responses such as hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, wildland fires, and earthquakes • Performs field investigations and leads multi-party examinations and documentation of damaged property • Researches failure modes and code requirements and prepares repair or remediation recommendations • Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports and letters outlining damage causes and origins • Applies established policies, procedures, and processes using sound judgment and submits reports and documents timely and according to client standards • Provides expert testimony in court when required • Manages and works with multidisciplinary teams on large and complex assignments • Establishes trusted client relationships and interacts socially at mixed client engagements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline is required • Active PE is required (in the state of employment is preferred) • 5 to 7+ years’ experience in design in combination of residential, commercial and industrial setting preferred • Experience with commercial and industrial facilities is desired • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills • Technical expertise including Microsoft Suite and CRM • 25 - 30%+ travel • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in a work capacity • Ability to work in inclement weather and various environmental conditions • Ability to work in high areas such as roofs or scaffolding, requiring physical agility, balance, and resistance to acrophobia
