📋 Description

• Analyze and classify workplace injury, illness, fatality, catastrophe, and severe injury or illness records • Apply standardized case-classification codes using the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Injury and Illness Classification System (OIICS) • Exercise independent judgment to classify complex or ambiguous cases accurately and consistently • Draft brief, clear incident narratives in plain, concise language • Manage multiple work queues and deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail • Collaborate with team members and senior analysts for guidance, quality checks, and knowledge sharing through Microsoft Teams • Contribute to documentation, process improvements, and evolving analytical practices • Support national occupational safety and health programs and OSHA efforts to understand injury and illness trends and improve worker safety across the U.S.

🎯 Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in communications, health/environmental science, mathematics/statistics, or a related field • Experience required: 0 to 5 years • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to apply rules consistently • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely • Outstanding time-management and organizational skills • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and complete assignments in a timely manner • Experience or strong interest in data analysis, public health, occupational safety, epidemiology, or related fields • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint • Willingness and ability to learn new software and technical skills as required • Experience with occupational health and safety and structured coding, such as OIICS or ICD coding, is preferred • Experience or coursework in data analysis or data management is preferred • Prior exposure to occupational health, injury or illness surveillance, or public health research is preferred
