• Participate in formal ERIE claims training and learn claims handling operations and processes • Successfully complete assigned projects independently according to course objectives and timeline • Learn and become familiar with branch office procedures • Accompany Material Damage Adjusters or Property Adjusters during claim investigations and related claims functions • Develop and demonstrate working knowledge of the computer-based estimating system • Establish reserves, take statements, document activities, conduct investigations, and adjudicate losses to final disposition • Interact with agents and district sales managers in the assigned territory regarding claims and underwriting issues • Complete classroom and hands-on training in Erie, PA, including learning ERIE's property estimating platform • Gain field experience and learn branch-office workflows alongside mentors and supervisors • Attend multiple weeks of the 15-week training program in Erie, PA
• High school diploma or equivalent required for Property Adjuster Trainee • Bachelor's degree preferred for Property Adjuster Trainee • Property Adjuster I: High School Diploma or GED and two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent required; or High School Diploma or GED and successful completion of ERIE-sponsored formal education; or Bachelor's Degree required • Property Adjuster II: High School Diploma or GED and five years of claims handling experience, or equivalent required; or Bachelor's Degree and two years of claims handling experience, or equivalent required • Must live in the assigned territory unless a change is approved by the company • Ability to drive/travel regularly within the assigned territory • Must serve on catastrophe duty, including possible short-notice travel to other locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks • Willingness to pursue and complete Technical Learning Center Training required • Willingness to obtain and maintain any required licenses • Valid driver's license and good driving record required • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required • Ability to move over 50 lbs using lifting aide equipment • Ability to climb/access heights • Computer use, manual keying, data entry, and information inputting • Successful completion of AIC 33 and AIC 35 preferred
