• Own national key account strategy and operating plan for priority IDNs and health systems • Translate enterprise strategy into clear objectives, governance, and execution standards • Directly lead, coach, and develop Regional Directors, Key Accounts and Key Account Directors • Set goals, manage performance, assess talent, onboard employees, provide field coaching, and plan succession • Drive national performance through prioritization, resource allocation, business reviews, pipeline and initiative tracking, and corrective action planning • Establish and maintain senior stakeholder engagement plans for strategic accounts • Provide selective executive-level engagement and escalation support • Partner with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market Access, Trade/Distribution, and Patient Support Services on compliant account strategies • Build and sustain a national operating model, including cadence, tools, templates, and best-practice sharing • Define and monitor national KPIs, synthesize insights, and drive continuous improvement • Ensure timely completion of planning, reporting, forecasting, budget and expense management, and compliance training • Promote a high-performing, inclusive, and patient-focused culture in a fully remote environment • Represent Key Accounts in national business reviews and enterprise initiatives • Partner with Commercial Leadership to shape strategy, identify risks and opportunities, and scale successful account approaches • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree is required • Advanced degree preferred • Preferred degree in sciences (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Kinesiology, Pre-med, other STEM background) or related field • 12+ years of pharmaceutical or relevant commercial experience • 6+ years of key account/IDN/organized customer experience • 5+ years of people leadership; multi-level leadership preferred • Demonstrated success leading teams and driving performance in complex, matrixed environments • Strong coaching, prioritization, and change management skills • Strong understanding of health system decision-making, formulary processes, reimbursement/access dynamics, and evolving care delivery models, including IDNs, ACOs, GPOs, and specialty pharmacy channels • Knowledge of cardiovascular and heart failure marketplace highly preferred • Proven ability to collaborate across Sales, Market Access, and Marketing, and compliantly engage Medical teams when needed • Must be willing and able to travel up to 50%, including overnight stays • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record meeting Esperion employment standards • Ability to embrace a performance-driven and growth culture • Strong presentation, communication, and executive presence
