📋 Description

• Administer and implement database solutions • Provide system operational support, administration, problem resolution, software installations, and upgrades • Support Google Cloud Platform and other cloud-based solutions • Manage enterprise cloud database technologies, including Microsoft SQL Server and other database platforms • Configure, maintain, and patch database platforms • Monitor database performance, utilization, and capacity • Manage maintenance plans, backups, and automated jobs • Manage database platform security using Active Directory-integrated accounts in a multi-forest environment • Write and optimize queries • Design database schemas • Develop, administer, and optimize Google BigQuery datasets, tables, views, partitioning, clustering, permissions, scheduled queries, and data pipelines • Support BigQuery SQL development, performance tuning, cost optimization, data governance, access controls, and integrations • Use database, cloud, monitoring, DevOps, AI automation, and incident-management tools • Perform traces and profiling to troubleshoot problems • Improve performance through hardware adjustments, server configuration, indexes, and query changes • Advise report writers and deploy or write reports in reporting solutions • Work with application and IT teams to resolve and escalate issues • Provide on-call support and respond to alerts • Respond to technical issues from internal users and document them in the Help Desk tracking system • Monitor databases to ensure service-level agreements are met • Communicate status and updates to end users • Recreate problems in development environments and create documented workarounds • Assist in training

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in database administration in a cloud-based enterprise environment • Administrative knowledge of Active Directory and other forms of database security • Scripting and automation experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong customer service and analytic skills • Ability to think through complex problems and implement appropriate solutions • Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships • Ability to think and work independently • Ability to adapt and learn in a fast-paced, changing environment • Administrative experience with at least one of Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS • Experience using or supporting AI agents, copilots, or intelligent automation solutions • Administration experience in backup technologies for various database platforms • 10+ years of experience preferred spanning more than one environment • Hands-on Google Cloud database administration experience preferred • MongoDB and other non-Microsoft SQL Server database technologies a plus • Data warehousing experience a plus • Linux experience a plus • PowerShell scripting and automation experience a plus • Ability to work 40 hours per week, 5 days per week • On-call support for after-hours issues required
