📋 Description

• Serve as a highly trained, field-based scientific expert in ophthalmology, particularly retinal disease and neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) • Act as the primary medical point of contact within the assigned geographic area • Engage healthcare professionals, KOLs, scientific communities, professional societies, and organizations in compliant scientific peer exchange • Maintain clinical and scientific expertise in ophthalmology and standards of care for wet AMD • Conduct pre-launch KOL profiling and top account/institution profiling • Develop and track strategic KOL engagement plans and maintain collaborative relationships • Support health systems, population health leaders, medical quality professionals, and healthcare providers with clinical and scientific information • Deliver clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare providers, health systems, medical groups, leadership, community groups, and advocacy organizations • Provide insights into market trends, clinical intelligence, patient care pathways, and treatment protocols • Collaborate with Medical Affairs leadership, clients, thought leaders, R&D, implementation teams, and commercial colleagues • Attend and report on educational events, symposia, scientific and clinical meetings, CME events, congresses, and medical meetings • Manage time and travel expense budgets for scientific exchange and clinical education • Handle clinical program requests and unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information, including documentation • Support clinical trial sites and investigators and serve as a resource for investigator-initiated trial proposals • Provide internal teams with KOL feedback, medical support, clinical input, and training • Represent the client at Medical Affairs scientific booths and related activities • Adhere to corporate SOPs and legal and regulatory requirements governing scientific interactions • Manage the assigned territory and contribute to organizational goals beyond the geographic territory

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree required, such as OD, PharmD, PhD, MD, MSN, DNP, or NP/PA • MSL: Minimum 2 years of previous MSL experience • MSL: Minimum 1 year of ophthalmology experience with working knowledge of retinal disorders • Senior MSL: Minimum 5 years of pharma experience • Senior MSL: Minimum 3 years of rare disease and ophthalmology experience • Ability to interpret and present scientific data to engage KOLs • Working knowledge of standards of care for ophthalmology and retinal disorders • Ability to present complex scientific, value, and evidence data to payors and/or formulary committees • Working knowledge of ophthalmology screening and wellness programs strongly desired • Working knowledge of institutions and clinics in selected geographies • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively • Ability to travel frequently (70%) with overnight stays • Adherence to corporate SOPs and legal and regulatory guidelines • Must support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures
