📋 Description

• Function as a highly trained, field-based scientific expert in ophthalmology, particularly retinal disease • Serve as the primary medical point of contact in the geographic area • Maintain clinical and scientific expertise in ophthalmology and wet AMD standards of care • Conduct compliant scientific peer exchange concerning wet AMD and the client’s product • Engage healthcare professionals, KOLs, scientific communities, professional societies, and organizations • Conduct pre-launch KOL profiling and top account/institution profiling • Develop and track strategic KOL engagement plans • Support health systems, population health leaders, medical quality professionals, and medical groups with scientific information • Deliver clinical and scientific presentations to healthcare providers, health systems, leadership, advocacy groups, payors, and formulary committees • Build relationships with KOLs and key decision makers • Provide market trend and clinical intelligence insights • Collaborate with Medical Affairs leadership, clients, thought leaders, R&D, commercial colleagues, and internal teams • Support clinical research, clinical trials, investigator-initiated trial proposals, and implementation activities as needed • Attend and report on symposia, scientific/clinical meetings, CME events, congresses, and medical meetings • Manage time and travel expense budgets within assigned regions • Respond to and document unsolicited requests for medical/scientific information • Provide internal teams with KOL feedback and insights • Provide medical support, clinical input, and training for internal teams • Adhere to corporate SOPs and legal and regulatory requirements • Manage the assigned territory while contributing to organizational goals beyond the territory

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree (e.g., OD, PharmD, PhD, MD, MSN, DNP, or NP/PA) required • MSL: Minimum 2 years of previous MSL experience • MSL: Minimum 1 year of ophthalmology experience with working knowledge of retinal disorders • Senior MSL: Minimum 5 years of pharma experience • Senior MSL: Minimum 3 years of rare disease and ophthalmology experience • Excellent scientific, business, and clinical acumen • Excellent communication and networking skills • Ability to interpret and present scientific data to engage KOLs • Working knowledge of standards of care for prostate cancer • Ability to present complex scientific and value and evidence data to payors and/or formulary committees • Working knowledge of ophthalmology screening and wellness programs strongly desired • Working knowledge of institutions and clinics in selected geographies • Excellent written and oral presentation skills • Ability to travel frequently (70%) with overnight stays • Ability to comply with corporate SOPs and relevant legal and regulatory guidelines
