📋 Description

• Answer calls to FSMV’s 24/7 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline • Provide compassionate emotional support to callers experiencing emotional distress, loneliness, depression, suicidal thoughts, or crisis • Follow Lifeline policies and protocols for responses, data collection, documentation, and confidentiality • Administer a safety assessment on each call and respond according to risk level • Attend to call volume in accordance with performance measures • Maintain a calm and friendly demeanor during crisis situations • Provide resources for additional support, including follow-up calls • Protect caller, organizational, and staff privacy and confidentiality • Communicate issues to supervisors and collaborate with Lifeline staff regarding repeat or difficult callers • Collect statistical and narrative data using required database tools while maintaining confidentiality • Participate in staff meetings, debriefing sessions, group support, and other required meetings

🎯 Requirements

• High school degree, minimum • Compassionate and caring person able to balance emotional support with self-care and boundary setting • Strong interpersonal skills and verbal communication for compassionate listening and befriending • Dependable and reliable • Ability to deescalate a crisis situation while maintaining composure • Cultural competency skills to effectively work with diverse populations • Ability to manage time appropriately • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; well organized • Must reside in Massachusetts or New Hampshire
