📋 Description

• Conduct virtual and on-site investigations at policyholders’ residences • Assess property damage, determine liability, evaluate losses, and negotiate fair settlements • Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to determine damage and write estimates in a paperless environment • Evaluate and report potential subrogation opportunities • Report theft, fraud, or arson incidents to appropriate state and industry agencies • Work independently with duties directly impacting management outcomes • Represent the company professionally in public interactions • Engage with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, investigators, attorneys, and medical professionals • Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims • Promote safety and comply with company safety and ergonomic standards • Travel away from home for catastrophe deployments, usually for 23 days

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required • Excellent customer service experience, preferably in a retail environment • Construction or Insurance experience is highly desirable and preferred • Excellent communication skills – both oral and written • Computer literate: MS Word, Excel, Outlook • Proficiency with smartphones and applications • Eagerness to learn about insurance policies and property damage • Valid driver's license and bondable • Final candidates subject to a Motor Vehicle Record background check • Willing and able to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times per day • Willing and able to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces • Minimum passing score on all claims training exams • Must speak, read, and write English • Candidates must reside in the Greater Springfield, MO area • Willingness to commit to 1–3 catastrophe deployments per year • Ability to carry up to 50 lbs.
