• Manage investigations and provide counseling for routine and complex employee relations matters, including harassment, conflict, worker complaints, grievances, and workplace accommodations • Determine when additional investigation or involvement is required and manage accordingly • Stay current on company policies and assist with policy rollout and downstream impact • Facilitate training related to policies and programs as needed • Interpret and apply relevant U.S. laws and regulations to negotiate and resolve labor agreements, conflicts, and disputes • Consult with internal legal counsel based on potential legal risk factors • Maintain documents and records for contract negotiations with employees and labor organizations • Maintain records related to corrective actions, grievances, terminations, and transfers • Track employee compliance, behavioral policy abuse, and employee relations metrics; identify trends and recommend solutions • Maintain advanced proficiency with documentation processes and best practices for performance improvement records • Assist with performance evaluation processes • Partner with leadership to revise and deliver corrective action plans • Influence stakeholders across the organization through interpersonal and communication skills, cultural competence, and balanced conflict resolution • Perform and analyze exit interviews and recommend improvements to leadership • Perform other duties as assigned • Report to the Sr. Director, Culture, Ethics & Compliance
• 12+ years’ experience in legal compliance, internal investigations, employee relations, labor relations, or a related field • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information • Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR, employee relations, and negotiations • Exceptional interpersonal, data analysis, conflict resolution, written and verbal communication skills • Effective time management, cultural competence, operational agility, and problem-solving abilities • Ability to travel as needed, up to 30% • Preferred: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related field • Preferred: Experience with employee relations and labor relations within a distribution center or retail environment • Preferred: Experience with an Ethics Hotline, such as NAVEX EthicsPoint or CaseIQ • Preferred: Formal investigation and interviewing training/experience, such as law enforcement • Ability to embody the SPIRIT values: serve, perform, influence, respect, innovate, and team • Clear and proactive communication; ability to motivate and inspire others • Results-oriented and customer-focused decision-making • Strategic and forward-thinking decision-making
