• Develop and apply mathematical or statistical methods to organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data from multiple sources • Develop credit risk rating models and other credit risk-related initiatives • Derive well-reasoned and supportable model assumptions • Monitor the performance and calibration of existing models • Implement models transparently and maintainably in code within loan origination applications • Document modeling and analysis work to meet internal, GAAP, and regulatory requirements • Translate model theory and results for non-quantitative audiences • Develop and support controls for the model implementation framework • Support independent model validation, internal and external audits, and regulatory reviews • Address model issues and remediation actions with model users, validators, and regulators • Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, Credit, Lines of Business, Model Risk Management, and Enterprise Technology • Perform special projects and additional duties as required • Complete required compliance training and maintain regulatory compliance
• Undergraduate degree (4 years or equivalent); a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field with additional certifications or experience • 6+ years of model development, model performance monitoring, or validation experience, particularly in credit risk • Experience with at least one of R, SAS, SQL, or Python • Experience with commercial dual risk rating frameworks, especially PD/LGD/EAD modeling approaches • Experience developing credit risk models and programming user interfaces • Experience with nCino implementation of risk rating models and financial spreading process • Working knowledge of GAAP, Basel III, Dodd-Frank Act Stress Testing, CCAR, and bank accounting/regulatory reporting requirements • Ability to use advanced statistical and mathematical software for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis • Ability to apply statistical techniques such as segmentation, logistic regression, sensitivity analysis, and machine learning • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Ability to articulate ideas, analytic insights, and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, including executives • Ability to identify key problems, conduct in-depth research, and articulate well-reasoned solutions • Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships • Ability to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations • Travel is not required • No unusual physical exertion is involved
