📋 Description

• Review client documentation, including drawings, studies, and maintenance logs, before and during inspections. • Perform visual inspections of electrical systems and components, including main service and switchgear, panelboards, lighting, generators, fire alarms, grounding, and surge protection equipment. • Review conformance with client standards and accessibility, fire and life safety, code, energy, and sustainability requirements. • Collaborate with client facilities management staff to understand facility operations, investments, and functional needs. • Use tablets, cameras, and mobile collection software to document system findings and condition determinations on-site. • Develop facility replacement cost estimates and corrective measure estimates using data libraries and vendor research. • Document findings in Gordian’s asset management and capital planning software. • Perform quality assurance for completeness and accuracy of findings in preparation for reports and presentations. • Respond to client inquiries with clarification and guidance regarding assessment findings. • Travel with assessment professionals to conduct condition assessments of electrical systems in diverse facilities and supporting infrastructure.

🎯 Requirements

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Facility/Construction management degree or a combination of equivalent experience. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility assessment or inspection, facility operations, design, construction, or facility/property management. • Knowledge of researching and applying relevant building codes and standards for existing buildings. • Experience conducting quantity surveys and estimating replacement values using RS Means or other construction cost data sets. • Experience evaluating facility/system conditions and conducting lifecycle analysis to identify deficiencies with corrective cost estimates. • Proficiency with computers and mobile devices, including Microsoft Office products (Teams, Word, Excel) and web browsers. • Clear written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to maintain focus on critical tasks and drive results. • Accuracy and attention to detail. • Ability to travel 40% to 50% nationally and occasionally internationally. • Physical ability to walk and inspect large complexes and climb ladders and stairs. • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as defined by applicable federal and state/provincial laws and mandates, subject to verified accommodations.
