• Drive continued advancement of the California Mathematics Alignment Project and related Roadmap recommendations • Oversee professional learning initiatives, research projects, and pilot initiatives • Develop, execute, and manage grants • Support policy development, outreach, and implementation • Manage stakeholder engagement and contractors • Develop strategic communications and provide evaluation support • Oversee Learning Lab’s mathematics grant project portfolio • Conduct research and interviews supporting grant opportunities, research projects, professional learning, and pilot initiatives • Develop and manage strategic outreach and public-facing communications • Oversee RFP processes from launch through grant awards, including state compliance • Provide technical assistance to grantees • Approve invoices and budget and scope-of-work change requests • Conduct grantee check-ins and cohort meetings • Develop or oversee research briefs and reports • Grow mathematics-related communities • Facilitate Substack posts, LinkedIn posts, and other media coverage • Serve as primary contact and liaise with constituencies, external groups, and contractors • Recruit and manage peer review processes, selection committees, and process and award briefings
• Minimum of eight (8)+ years of experience researching, analyzing, and synthesizing data, program development, and communications • Research and evaluation experience • Prior experience managing or developing a program preferred • Experience with strategic communications preferred • Understanding of and experience working in public higher education systems, policy, and research in California • Understanding of and experience working with K-12 secondary systems of education and California state agencies, boards, and commissions preferred • Experience working directly with higher education faculty and/or K-12 teachers preferred • Knowledge of policy and research related to mathematics education in California • Experience developing and implementing funding opportunities or RFPs • Experience with higher education grantmaking opportunities for UC, CSU, and California Community Colleges • Must reside in California • Availability of 30–40 hours per week
