📋 Description

• Adjust an inventory of low to moderately complex general liability claims • Investigate, evaluate, and bring claims to timely resolution in accordance with claim handling standards and applicable state laws • Analyze commercial policy language and loss facts to make coverage decisions • Communicate coverage positions verbally and in writing, including reservation of rights and denial of coverage letters • Compose professional written communications for insureds, claimants, attorneys, and agents • Interpret construction contracts and apply risk transfer when appropriate • Evaluate and document damages and maintain accurate, timely reserves • Escalate cases with potential exposure above authority to management • Negotiate fair and accurate claim settlements in good faith • Proactively manage litigated claim files from inception to closure with defense counsel • Resolve litigated cases through negotiated settlement or trial • Negotiate the duty to defend and indemnify with liable insurers when appropriate • Retain experts and vendors while managing loss adjustment expenses • Manage workloads to achieve quality and production goals while providing superior customer service • Implement strategies to close files efficiently • Document notes and file activity in a paperless claim system • Compose periodic reports, claim summary reports, and large loss notifications as needed • Communicate with other departments about claim developments and overall claim trends • Maintain appropriate reserves on assigned claim files

🎯 Requirements

• Five (5) or more years of experience in adjusting commercial liability claims • Proven record of increasing responsibility, appropriate claim outcomes, and excellent customer service • Understanding of commercial lines products, policy language, exclusions, ISO forms, and effective claim handling practices • Moderate level of knowledge and skill in claim handling and litigation management • High school diploma or equivalent required • Proper public adjuster licenses in Florida and/or Texas and other states, with ability to obtain additional licenses as needed • College degree preferred
