📋 Description

• Adjust an inventory of low to moderately complex general liability claims • Investigate, evaluate and resolve general liability claims, including litigated claims and claims involving property damage, bodily injury, inland marine and construction defects • Analyze commercial policy language and loss facts to make coverage decisions • Communicate coverage positions verbally and in writing, including reservation of rights and denial letters • Compose professional communications to insureds, claimants, attorneys and agents • Interpret construction contracts and apply risk transfer when appropriate • Evaluate and document damages and maintain accurate, timely reserves • Escalate cases with potential exposure above authority to management • Negotiate fair and accurate claim settlements in good faith • Proactively manage litigated claim files with defense counsel through settlement or trial • Negotiate the duty to defend and indemnify with liable insurers • Retain experts and vendors while managing loss adjustment expenses • Manage workloads to meet quality and production goals while providing superior customer service • Implement strategies to close files efficiently • Document claim activity in a paperless claim system and prepare periodic claim summary and large loss reports • Communicate claim developments and trends with other departments • Maintain appropriate reserves on assigned claim files

🎯 Requirements

• Five (5) or more years of experience adjusting commercial liability claims • Proven record of increasing responsibility, appropriate claim outcomes and excellent customer service • Understanding of commercial lines products, policy language, exclusions, ISO forms and effective claim handling practices • Moderate knowledge and skill in claim handling and litigation management • High school diploma or equivalent required • College degree preferred • Must hold proper public adjuster licenses in Florida and/or Texas and other states, with ability to obtain additional licenses as needed
