📋 Description

• Perform construction observation and inspection on transportation projects throughout Indiana • Report to the Project Supervisor or Resident Project Representative • Interact with clients, contractors, officials, and the public in meetings and other communications • Document construction progress through daily reports, status reports, and other data reporting • Perform and oversee field monitoring on multi-site and multi-phase construction projects • Monitor concrete placement, earthwork, roadway paving, buildings, structures, foundations, and building materials • Generate and substantiate reports and documentation regarding construction, materials, integration, equipment, and operations • Assist Task Managers and Project Managers with technical aspects of projects • Liaise with related individuals and practices and apply formal strategic and persuasive communications • Provide continued mentored experience to senior staff

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of related experience • High school diploma or related field • Driver's License • Knowledge of transportation construction and quality control practices • Knowledge of Indiana Department of Transportation, Indianapolis Department of Public Works, or other governmental agency specifications, standards, and inspection requirements • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and technical documents • Experience inspecting contractor work and documenting project progress and quality • Ability to measure and calculate material quantities • Ability to perform material testing • INDOT certified technician • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions • Ability to lift heavy testing equipment and material samples • Ability to walk on uneven terrain and navigate steps, stairs, and ladders • Ability to work in hazardous environments and use required personal protective equipment
