• Provide quality assurance oversight and work performance on landfill construction projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states • Observe construction activities and complete field testing of soils/earthwork • Inspect geosynthetic liner installation • Complete daily reports to monitor and document construction activities • Act as the lead CQC/CQA representative on project sites • Interact with project Owners, Contractors, third-party testing laboratories, and GAI engineers to verify compliance with project plans and specifications • Manage and train other GAI construction technicians • Perform routine inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures for power generation construction inspection • Inspect geosynthetic liner systems for environmental containment, concrete testing, and soils testing • Follow quality control requirements and perform audits • Document inspection, testing, and quality control results • Coordinate calibration of test equipment, tools, and devices • Assist with writing and updating inspection procedures, protocols, and checklists • Interpret prints, drawings, schematics, and project specifications • Assist in writing certification reports at project conclusion • Perform and oversee field monitoring on multisite/phase construction projects • Generate and substantiate reports and documentation regarding construction, materials, integration, equipment, and operations • Assist Task Managers and Project Managers with technical aspects of projects • Routinely interact with practice leaders, clients, officials, contractors, and others
• Experience with construction quality control (CQC) or construction quality assurance (CQA) for the installation of geosynthetic liner systems at landfills is required • Applicants must be willing to travel to the regions serviced, with infrequent project support at sites further away • Minimum of 5 years experience in landfill construction CQC/CQA projects • Experience including geomembrane installation, structural fill placement, protective cover placement above geomembranes, installation of drainage structures, and installation of sediment ponds • Minimum 10+ years of related experience • High School diploma or related field • Driver’s License • OSHA 10-hour Training is desired, but not required • Certification in geosynthetic placement from a program such as the Geosynthetic Institute (GSI) Inspector Certification Program or equivalent is desired but not required • American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Testing Technician – Grade 1 certification is desired but not required • Ability to lift/maneuver up to 49 lbs. • Ability to operate mid-size or full-size trucks offroad in various weather conditions
