• Perform technical analysis of power electronic and power systems control for renewable generation, battery energy storage systems, large industrial drives, and FACTS • Support customers with power systems engineering expertise, including modeling, analysis, equipment design and specification, and failure mode analysis • Create, modify, and parameterize simulation models for GE Vernova inverter-based resource products, including wind turbines, solar, and battery storage • Evaluate grid code compliance and renewable-project impacts in bulk power systems • Support development of transmission- and distribution-connected IBR and DER products for evolving codes and standards • Participate in industry standards groups • Perform power-system transient studies and detailed equipment modeling using appropriate software tools • Develop technical understanding of GE Vernova power-electronic generation and transmission products and their grid integration • Prepare detailed written reports and presentations communicating analyses, solutions, and customer value propositions • Present technical content in regional forums and conferences and serve as a thought leader in industry activities • Contribute to a working environment emphasizing teamwork, quality, customer service, and innovation
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, electric power engineering, or related field and minimum three (3) years of industry experience performing transient analysis using PSCAD/EMTDC and EMTP and steady-state and dynamic analysis using PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSLF, and DSATools (PSAT, TSAT, SSAT) • Three (3) years of industry experience using common programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or FORTRAN • OR Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, electric power engineering, or related field, with no industry experience required • Strong background in power system analysis • Solid understanding of inverter-based resources control-system design and application considerations • Experience developing user-defined models • Willingness to travel up to 10% • Ability to work remotely within the United States • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
