📋 Description

• Contribute to GE Vernova Consulting Services’ Grid Integration and Stability practice and energy-transition initiatives • Perform technical analysis of power-electronic and power-system controls for renewable generation, battery energy storage systems, large industrial drives, and FACTS • Support customers with power-systems engineering expertise, including modeling, analysis, equipment design and specification, and failure-mode analysis • Create, modify, and parameterize simulation models for GE Vernova inverter-based resource products, including wind turbines, solar, and battery storage • Evaluate grid-code compliance and renewable-project impacts on bulk power systems • Support development of transmission- and distribution-connected IBR and DER products for evolving codes and standards • Participate in industry standards groups • Perform power-system transient studies and detailed equipment modeling using appropriate software • Develop technical understanding of GE Vernova power-electronic generation and transmission products and their grid integration • Prepare detailed written reports and presentations communicating analyses, solutions, and customer value propositions • Present technical content in regional forums and conferences and serve as a thought leader in industry activities • Work in a team-oriented environment emphasizing quality, customer service, and innovation

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, electric power engineering, or related field and minimum three (3) years of industry experience performing transient analysis using PSCAD/EMTDC and EMTP and steady-state and dynamic analysis using PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSLF, and DSATools (PSAT, TSAT, SSAT) • Three (3) years of industry experience using common programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or FORTRAN • OR Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, electric power engineering, or related field; no industry experience required with this qualification • Strong background in power system analysis • Solid understanding of inverter-based resource control-system design and application considerations • Experience developing user-defined models • Willingness to travel up to 10% • Position eligibility limited to remote work within the United States • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable • Advanced experience creating and modifying dynamic user models in PSS/E, PowerFactory, DSATools, and PSLF is a plus • Experience with steady-state and dynamic analysis using PSS/E, PowerFactory, and PSLF • Experience using C and C++ is a plus • Experience with PSCAD/EMTDC and EMTP • Advanced experience with dynamic and time-domain simulation tools, FORTRAN user-written models, and Python/MATLAB scripting • Demonstrated application of complex mathematics and engineering to real-world electric power system problems • IEEE/CIGRE published articles related to power systems engineering and participation in industry standards working groups • Data Center-related study experience is a plus • Project management experience
