📋 Description

• Execute contractual obligations and customer requirements with site and hub leadership • Maintain, repair, or replace electrical and mechanical equipment used in GE wind turbine generators • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable-pitch and variable-speed turbines • Support all areas of site operations as directed by the manager with minimal supervision • Observe all safety requirements • Perform diagnostic electrical analysis • Document work using computer-based service reporting procedures • Work with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary • Partner and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager to meet contract requirements and timelines • Travel locally within the Charleston, Fithian, and Sibley hub • Perform daily turbine operations, safety, quality control, and warranty repairs

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED • 1+ year(s) experience as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, or completed Wind Certificate Program/Associate’s Degree in Energy, or 2 years of electrical work experience • Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment • Basic computer skills • Valid driver’s license, maintained throughout employment • Ability to handle repetitive weight of 50 lbs. and climb towers up to 300 feet daily • Must meet specified manufacturer weight limits not exceeding 300 lbs. including required gear • Ability and willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry environments • Ability to prioritize work according to contract obligations • Ability and willingness to take initiative and work without direct supervision • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and on-call schedules as needed • Occasional overnight travel may be required • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
