📋 Description

• Provide or extend mechanical systems design for new construction and/or renovation of industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities • Develop construction drawings and specifications addressing installation, integration, interconnection, and control of mechanical components • Work independently on smaller, less complex projects with some supervision from the Manager of Mechanical Engineering • Perform calculations and formulate designs and layouts for HVAC, piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems • Create engineering documents using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD or manually with support from more junior staff • Edit or draft project specifications • Conduct field measuring and checking at construction sites • Review drawings for omissions, errors, quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards and codes • Review product submittals and specify actions for specification compliance • Maintain organized project files • Select and source equipment • Coordinate projects with other disciplines • Communicate scope changes to the department manager and Project Manager • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field required • Engineer-in-training (EIT) certification preferred • Prior internship in the building design consulting industry preferred • Basic knowledge of Building Information Modeling software, Autodesk Revit, and AutoCAD • Strong technical and analytical skills, including knowledge of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics as they relate to mechanical systems design for buildings • Familiarity with Trane Trace 3D Plus and Bluebeam Revu • Excellent written and verbal communication • Strong attention to detail
