📋 Description

• Engineer and implement real-time automation controls and information solutions • Conceptualize solutions during the project design phase • Program, debug, and test systems • Create project engineering notes, proposals, design traceability documentation, case studies, and other documentation • Commission new solutions at client sites and identify improvement opportunities • Create methodologies and solve complex problems • Learn new technologies • Mentor colleagues using relevant expertise and knowledge • Develop real-time automation solutions from the manufacturing plant floor to the enterprise level • Work with PLC and PAC programming, HMI application design, SCADA design, network design, database design, and vision system design • Partner with clients to solve manufacturing and industrial information problems

🎯 Requirements

• Successful or upcoming completion of B.Sc. Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering Technology degree • Academic or working experience with some or all listed technologies • Experience with PLC/PAC programming, HMI, SCADA, networking, databases, vision systems, or related automation technologies • Meticulous, conscientious, analytical, focused, self-starter individual and quick learner • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Valid Driver’s License • Full-time access to a personal vehicle • Must be located in Central Virginia or Maryland • Willingness to travel up to 30–50% in VA, MD, PA, NJ, and DE • Employee will be associated with and report to Grantek’s Richmond, VA office • Experience in food and beverage or life sciences industries preferred • Experience with DeviceNet, ControlNet, DH+, Remote IO, or Modbus preferred but not necessary • Experience with Python, Historian (PI System), and databases is a plus
