• Support the lead teacher in implementing a rich Core Knowledge curriculum • Function as a second teacher in the classroom without responsibility for all planning, grading/evaluation, and parent communications • Provide individual assistance and help students make up work after approved absences • Support students who find content and lessons challenging • Collaborate with classroom teachers and grade-level staff to improve learning • Support and enforce school dress and behavior codes • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for the classroom teacher and Headmaster • Attend Open Houses, special school events, designated staff meetings, and faculty development • Substitute for absent teachers when necessary • Perform monitoring and duty assignments • Assist with upkeep of buildings and grounds • Follow school safety and security policies, including the Academy Crisis Plan • Participate in performance evaluations and pursue continuous professional growth • Promote the mission and goals of Archway Classical Academy
• Some college coursework and/or Associate's degree required • Bachelor's degree preferred • Successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements • Must be able to maintain a stationary (standing or sitting) position for 25% of the time • May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities
