• Provide twelve months of training in institutional sales and relationship management • Learn how financial products work and explain them to institutional clients • Build and deliver client presentations and pitches • Receive repeated critiques from peers and industry professionals • Run relationship-management simulations involving unhappy, rejecting, or highly knowledgeable clients • Train on capital markets products, including stocks, bonds, and other financial instruments • Learn active listening, client needs assessment, and relationship-building techniques • Work with an industry mentor • Meet professionals at partner firms • Practice resilience and handling rejection • Use CRM and AI tools for client research, pitch development, research, drafting, and call follow-up • Prepare for junior-year internship recruiting and interviews • Greenwood trains scholars, advocates for them, and introduces them to partner firms; partner firms make final hiring decisions
• Currently enrolled as a freshman (Class of 2030) at an accredited four-year institution • Minimum 3.2 GPA for standard consideration • Students with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.19 may apply with a required personal essay • Students below a 3.0 GPA are not eligible for this cycle • High school transcript submitted with the application • First semester or first quarter college transcript submitted with the application or when grades post • Currently undeclared students may apply • Twelve-month commitment from the summer after freshman year through sophomore year • Approximately 6 to 8 hours per week, with heavier weeks around pitch deadlines • Ability to manage a full course load alongside program commitments • Interest in client-facing work in financial services • Strong verbal and written communication • Relationship-building ability and comfort with unfamiliar people • Confidence in client-facing situations and in front of a room • Active listening • Persuasive communication and early negotiation instincts • Resilience, adaptability, quick thinking, grit, resourcefulness, intellectual curiosity, integrity, character, and collaboration • Willingness to learn markets, financial products, presentation development, CRM systems, financial analysis, client and market research, and AI tools • Ability to meet application deadlines, including transcripts, forms, and possible interview scheduling
• Communication skills that transfer anywhere, including pitching, presenting, and holding a room • Product knowledge of financial services offerings • AI capability through client research, outreach, and call follow-up tools • One-on-one coaching • Industry mentor • Access to professionals at partner firms • Resilience developed through practical rejection experiences • Twelve months of training • Preparation, network, and honest feedback • Support through internship interviews
