📋 Description

• Assist certified and/or licensed practitioners in providing patient care for orthotic and/or prosthetic devices under indirect supervision • Prepare rooms and patients for treatment • Make and modify molds and perform technical fabrication • Complete administrative tasks and maintain accurate patient-care documentation • Evaluate selected orthotic and prosthetic needs; measure, cast, fit, and adjust devices • Perform selected patient-care procedures and alterations to device fittings • Provide follow-up care for selected orthotic and prosthetic patients • Perform shipping, receiving, inventory monitoring, and clerical tasks • Contact vendors to order prosthetic and orthotic materials • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment • Follow safety, Medicare, governmental, blood-borne pathogen, and OSHA requirements • Support hospital-based postoperative care when professionally licensed and internally trained

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required • ABC Assistant licensure in orthotics, prosthetics, or both • Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting Hanger’s standards • Willingness to consult certified clinicians during patient care as needed • Ability to follow written and verbal directions • Hand skills to use laboratory tools safely and effectively • Knowledge of biomechanical principles • Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills • Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize and plan to meet deadlines • Ability to act with integrity, honesty, transparency, and respect • Patient-centered approach and ability to build trust • Ability to foster open collaboration and constructive dialogue • Ability to innovate and respond to change • Focus on superior outcomes and effective work processes
