📋 Description

• Work within the Sitework discipline as a key member supporting design development for predominantly industrial clients across the nation and North and Central America. • Plan and execute infrastructure projects for industrial, site development, ports/multimodal freight, manufacturing, Power, and Infrastructure markets. • Prepare and review complex design calculations. • Prepare and review construction documents for roads, rail, utilities, highways, culverts, storm sewers, rail grade crossings, signing, pavement marking, and traffic control plans. • Develop civil and site designs including grading, stormwater, rail and roadways, utilities, and agency and railroad coordination. • Provide direction to junior engineers and CADD/Technician staff. • Manage and develop junior staff. • Work with project managers to develop scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables. • Work with clients to deliver cost-effective and constructable projects. • Deliver design tasks on time and within budget. • Provide technical support to other areas of Hanson. • Review contractor submittals and observe construction on-site for conformance with plans and specifications. • Discuss existing and future projects with clients. • Participate in proposal development. • Coordinate with project managers and other disciplines to track project backlog, staffing requirements, and integrated project delivery.

🎯 Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field is required. • 5 or more years of general civil engineering experience with an emphasis on site development. • Professional Engineer license in state of assigned office or the ability to reciprocate from another state within 6 months. • Railway and/or roadway engineering experience is a plus. • Additional licensure as a Professional Engineer in Texas and/or Louisiana or in a Canadian province would be viewed favorably. • Ability to translate scope requirements into clear and concise deliverables meeting client, budget, and schedule requirements. • Demonstrated ability to communicate and grow relationships with internal and external agencies and clients. • Ability to mentor and develop junior technical staff. • Effective oral communication and technical writing ability. • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D software, surface modeling, corridors and pipe networks. • Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices. • Willingness to accept out-of-town travel assignments and work overtime to meet project demands. • Participation and/or leadership roles within applicable technical or professional societies will be viewed favorably.
