• Assist the production editorial department with preparing books for publication during final development stages • Review typeset pages, printers’ proofs, final PDFs, book jackets, and covers for typographical correctness, stylistic consistency, and quality standards • Collate proofreader and author changes to interior text files and ensure revisions are incorporated accurately • Mark up PDFs using Adobe Acrobat commenting tools with editorial and layout corrections • Conduct production editorial checks on typeset pages, including line breaks, text flow, folios, headers and footers, stacking, widows and orphans, formatting, sketch and art checks • Proofread and fact-check cover copy • Copyedit and proofread ancillary documents, including praise pages, marketing materials, and reading group guides • Assist with bound galley production and reprint corrections • Assist with administrative duties and keep status grids up to date • Attend departmental and company meetings as required • Collaborate with Editorial and Design colleagues and participate in one-on-one meetings across the organization
• Available to work in a full-time capacity in 2027 or 2028 • Rising seniors, recent graduates, master’s students, or entry-level candidates with up to 1 year of work experience • Available to work 21 hours per week across 3 or 4 days from February 8 to April 16, 2027 • Authorized to work in the United States • Resume and cover letter required; cover letter addressed to “Hiring Team” • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s program • Passion for books highly valued
