📋 Description

• Provide language-enabled research, analytic services, and forward-thinking insight on complex issues related to China • Be responsible for the full range of activities in processing material or participating in situations requiring advanced capability to perform translation, transcription and interpretation tasks in support of the customer • Prepare assessments of current events based on sophisticated collection, research and analysis of open-source information, as well as develop and maintain analytical procedures to meet changing requirements and ensure maximum operations • Scan, sort/categorize foreign language written and verbal materials to recover essential elements of information • Complete lists, translations, and transcriptions, of complex and sophisticated written and/or spoken materials from Chinese Mandarin to English, and English to Chinese Mandarin • Perform quality control on language processing activities • Independently monitor and research various media to identify relevant Chinese language web content • Perform translations of various types of documents • Transcribe information into summaries • Additional duties as assigned or required

🎯 Requirements

• Level 3: 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience. • Level 4: 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience. • Level 5: 15+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13+ years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19+ years relevant experience. • native or near-native competency in Chinese Mandarin • Experience translating and summarizing general and technical material • Proven ability to review, edit, and prepare executive-level briefing materials to ensure accuracy and quality • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated expertise in Word and PowerPoint • Excellent ability to work autonomously or in team-based environments, adapting approach to meet project needs. • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. • Bonus points for… • Experience supporting USINDOPACOM and/or Intelligence Community (IC) • Advanced Chinese Mandarin language skills equivalent to or above ILR 2+ level for reading and writing • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense security cooperation policies and procedures
