📋 Description

• Apply expert-level craft across sketching, CAD surfacing, CMF, and prototyping • Contribute to and scale design systems and frameworks across the project portfolio • Resolve complex, ambiguous design problems across multiple initiatives • Anticipate design challenges and propose scalable, innovative solutions • Translate ambiguous briefs into design principles, sketches, and prototypes • Own creative direction for major projects or programs • Partner with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing from concept through production handoff • Balance brand, manufacturability, and cost • Track tolerances, material call-outs, and vendor capabilities through production • Drive creative cohesion across design, engineering, and operations • Lead discussions clarifying vision and priorities among stakeholders • Mentor peers and elevate collaboration and craft standards • Incorporate health and consumer product compliance and safety requirements into the design process • Translate compliance and human-factors requirements into design criteria • Maintain hands-on fluency in CAD, rendering, and physical prototyping • Make informed trade-offs involving materials and manufacturing processes

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in industrial design • Meaningful experience designing physical consumer or health/medical hardware shipped at scale • Portfolio demonstrating expert craft across multiple creative disciplines, from concept sketches to shipped, manufactured products • Experience contributing to design systems, CMF standards, or frameworks across multiple projects • Ability to resolve complex, ambiguous design problems across more than one initiative at a time • Deep fluency in sketching, 3D CAD (Rhino, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360), rendering (KeyShot), and hands-on prototyping • Working knowledge of injection molding, overmolding, extrusion, sheet metal, soft goods, and DFM principles • Experience partnering directly with engineering and operations teams from concept to production • Ability to mentor peers and elevate collaboration standards without formal management responsibility • Comfort working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous, remote contractor environment • Periodic travel as needed • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction for any employer • Portfolio link required with application
