• Manage a caseload involving real estate litigation and business litigation • Lead matters from intake strategy through settlement, mediation/arbitration, or trial • Develop case-specific legal strategies aligned to client goals, risk tolerance, and cost realities • Maintain proactive case timelines, control deadlines, and keep matters moving forward • Draft and argue dispositive and non-dispositive motions and manage hearings • Drive discovery strategy, including written discovery, meet-and-confers, motions to compel, protective orders, and evidentiary positioning • Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses • Appear in court, mostly remotely, for contested and uncontested matters, motion hearings, and trials • Prepare evidence, witnesses, exhibits, outlines, and trial themes • Communicate clearly and consistently with clients, set expectations, and provide practical recommendations • Improve templates, workflows, and internal processes • Utilize advanced legal technology and automation tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and consistency • Learn case types and expectations and handle files end-to-end • Contribute workflow and template improvement ideas that save time or improve quality • Help grow and shape the division, strengthen the firm’s reputation, and contribute to attracting, developing, and retaining team members
• New Mexico Bar license (active, in good standing) • Trial and motions practice experience required, including jury or bench trial involvement and comfort appearing in court • At least three years civil litigation experience • Strong command of the New Mexico Rules of Civil Procedure • Ability to manage disputes through settlement, mediation, arbitration, or trial • Professional judgment, responsiveness, and strong client-facing communication in a remote environment • Experience with general civil litigation or closely related litigation experience preferred • Experience with real estate litigation, HOA/COA matters, landlord/tenant, or business disputes preferred • Comfort operating in a fast-paced practice with measurable deadlines and outcomes preferred • At or near Santa Fe; Albuquerque is preferred • Must currently reside in New Mexico
