📋 Description

• Perform quantitative, economic, and technical analyses of U.S. power markets using commercial market models, proprietary tools, and large datasets. • Develop long-term forecasts of energy, capacity, ancillary service, and renewable energy market outcomes. • Evaluate renewable energy, battery storage, conventional generation, transmission, and emerging energy investments. • Analyze market fundamentals including load growth, fuel prices, transmission congestion, generation retirements, policy changes, and new resource additions. • Support interconnection and transmission analyses, including assessments of queue activity, network upgrade costs, congestion impacts, and project economics. • Assist with asset valuations, project financing analyses, acquisition due diligence, and M&A support engagements. • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance ICF's proprietary forecasting methodologies, databases, and analytical tools. • Prepare client presentations, technical reports, and market insights that effectively communicate complex findings to diverse audiences. • Support business development initiatives through market research, proposal preparation, conference participation, and thought leadership.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Operations Research, Mathematics, Energy Systems, Statistics, or a related quantitative field • Bachelor's degree AND 2 to 4+ years of experience in energy markets, power systems, energy economics, market analysis, consulting, trading, utility planning, or a related field • Master’s degree AND 1 to 3+ years of experience in energy markets, power systems, energy economics, market analysis, consulting, trading, utility planning, or a related field • Analytical and problem-solving skill experience • Experience using Excel and quantitative analysis tools • Experience with Python, R, SQL, or similar programming languages • Experience with power market simulation and forecasting tools such as PROMOD®, PLEXOS®, Aurora®, PSLF®, or similar platforms
