📋 Description
• Accurately assign ICD-10 CM diagnosis codes and CPT codes for emergency departments • Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, documentation requirements, and reimbursement policies • Reviews and analyzes emergency department records and assigns appropriate codes • Monitors and responds to coding denials and audits • Verify data abstracted from the electronic health record (EHR)
🎯 Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10-CM/PCS • Ability to complete and pass internal coding exam • Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health records • Excellent communication and analytical skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Associate degree or higher preferred in health information management or related field • Coding experience in acute care facility with ICD-10-CM & PCS coding
