📋 Description

• Develop project scope, objectives, and project plans outlining tasks and milestones with the archiving vendor • Gather and review background information, including current application inventory • Establish Project Sponsor status meeting schedules aligned with the Epic deployment • Identify governance structures and advisory committees involved in decision-making • Define guiding principles and decision criteria for application retirement according to organizational policies and legal regulations • Confirm data retention requirements and educate IT and organizational resources as necessary • Confirm legacy application and operations owners and conduct interviews to identify data use and user volume • Lead development of archiving options, approach, timeline, and resources with stakeholders and the archiving vendor • Direct activities and collaborate to reach organizational consensus on archiving strategy leading to legacy application retirement • Project manage and execute activities required for successful retirement of legacy applications • Document issues, risks, mitigation, and weekly project status; escalate as appropriate to leadership • Perform other related duties as required

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years managing complex healthcare IT projects, preferably involving EHR implementations or major application transitions • Proven experience leading legacy application decommissioning, data archiving, data migration, or application rationalization projects • Strong ability to coordinate executive sponsors, IT/business stakeholders, application owners, governance committees, and third-party archiving vendors • Experience defining data retention requirements, understanding healthcare regulatory/legal requirements, and establishing governance and decision criteria for application retirement • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field • Project Management certification such as PMP is strongly preferred
