📋 Description

• Own full-charge bookkeeping, monthly close, and accurate financial statement preparation • Establish COGS tracking by channel and product • Build and own company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting • Design and maintain a retail-specific contribution margin model covering distribution, trade marketing, slotting, and other retail costs distinct from DTC • Partner with the founding team on financial logic for retail expansion decisions, including pricing, door count, and SKU selection • Establish labor cost and budget tracking by business unit tied to CAC, LTV, and MER metrics • Lay the groundwork for the future finance function structure, including team build-out as scope expands • Report to the CEO and work closely with the Head of Data • Support real-time troubleshooting, banking approvals, and communication around weekly and monthly payment cycles

🎯 Requirements

• Solid accounting fundamentals • Comfortable independently owning books and monthly close as the company’s first dedicated finance hire • Experience owning FP&A at a growth-stage consumer/DTC brand • Ideally experience as an early or founding finance hire • Direct experience modeling retail unit economics • Understanding that retail success is determined by velocity and margin rather than price matching • Comfortable building and formalizing infrastructure and processes across accounting and FP&A • Track record of communicating financial complexity in actionable terms for non-finance stakeholders • Strong overlap with US business hours, with Central Time Zone / CST preferred • Resume submission required • Brief breakdown of a dynamic financial model built for a DTC e-commerce business required • No third-party or agency submissions accepted
